Winterport kicks off its weeklong 150th birthday celebration Saturday, July 31, with a mile-long yard sale beginning at 8 a.m., farmers market  from 8 a.m. to 1p.m., and a parade at 10 a.m. The day will be topped off with fireworks at 9 p.m. The celebration featuring different events daily runs through Saturday, Aug. 7. On Aug. 7, the Winterport Music Festival takes place begining at noon-8 p.m. at Abbott Park. Multiple musical performances, craft and food vendors, and children's activities (bounce house, petting zoo, dunk tank, pony rides) are among the offerings. Admission is $5.
